I recently had the privilege of meeting Olivia Howard, the director and owner of relatively new online store, Olive & Finn. If you haven't heard of Olive & Finn by now, it's time to open those ears, eyes and your web browser, peeps.
Olive & Finn was founded and launched by Howard in August 2012. "Olive & Finn started out of pure frustration on my own part. I wanted to be able to purchase something new and something different that I wouldn’t see 10 other people in the street wearing" says Howard. Already stocking amazing pieces by more underground labels such as Carly Hunter, Viktoria & Woods, KAHLO, Ellison and Batson, the store certainly delivers in this department.
Olive & Finn is all about creating more of a personal and special experience when shopping online. "I wanted to create a sense of exclusivity and to simulate the feeling of walking into a boutique shop. We are all about the designers. We know everything about them and that information is given to every customer. It's not just about selling clothes."
Howard is already on the hunt for some more amazing (and still relatively unknown) designers to add to the lineup. Already for Autumn/Winter she's sorted additions including "Thursday Sunday, The Serpent and the Swan and LIUK" as well as the same brands from their first season.
Howard's goals for Olive & Finn are lovely and simple. "I really hope that Olive & Finn encourages consumers to purchase from up and coming Australian and New Zealand designers and to endorse our local up and coming labels."
Couldn't have said it better myself. Now go endorse!
